PURPOSE:To easily calculate the presence quantity of the gamma-ray emitting nuclide distributed in the depth direction of a wall body with good accuracy, by measuring radioactive rays a plurality of times while changing the distance from the surface of the wall body and solving specific plural simultaneous simple equations. CONSTITUTION:A radiation measuring device is allowed to move to a vertical direction with respect to the surface of a wall body having a gamma-ray emitting nuclide present therein and the distance thereof from the surface of the wall body to measure radioactive rays n-times noticing a certain one nuclide. From n-pieces of measured values C1, C2...Cn at this time, the presence quantities N1, N2...Nn of the gamma-ray emitting nuclide in the wall body in the depth direction thereof are calculated according to a formula (wherein epsilon is the detection efficiency of a detector to the gamma-ray energy of a certain gamma-ray emitting nuclide, lambda is the linear attenuation coefficient of the wall body to the gamma-ray energy of the gamma-ray emitting nuclide, tn is the transmission distance in the wall body, Bn is build-up coefficient to the wall body of the transmission distance tn and rn is the distance from the wall body to the detector) by an operation apparatus.
