PURPOSE:To measure the transmission factor and reflectance of a sample by a simple operation, by providing a changeover mirror and switching it properly. CONSTITUTION:A luminous flux S comes into a sample 3 via flat mirrors 1 and 2 and the reflected light therefrom travels to a concave mirror 8 via flat mirrors 4 and 6 for measuring reflection, when a changeover mirror 7 is located at a non-operation position (b) outside an optical path. On the other hand, the transmission light through the sample 3 is reflected on the changeover mirror 7 switched over to the operation position (a) in the optical path via a flat mirror 5 for measuring transmission and travels to the concave mirror 8, following the same optical path as for the measurement of the reflection. The light reflected from the concave mirror 8 is turned to be incident light from a sample chamber section via a flat mirror 9. When the changeover mirror 7 is at the non-operation position (b), the reflected light from the sample 3 is emitted while the transmission light is emitted when it is at the operation position (a).
