Transplanting trough for large trees, comprising conically downwardly tapered corner elements (2) and straight intermediate elements (3) for arranging around the exposed root ball of a large tree to be transplanted. The corner elements (2) and intermediate elements (3) are held together by chain or cable pulls tied around the outside. In the ground region of the corner elements (2), cutter bars (16, 17) are guided on opposite sides of the transplanting trough and can be driven in transversely beneath the root ball by hydraulic working cylinders (19, 20).
