The invention relates to a device for influencing the distribution of the burden situated in an electric furnace, in particular reduction furnace, with means which are driven from the outside, can be moved into the furnace centre and are submerged into the burden. In order to produce such a device, and in particular one which makes possible a considerably more effective distribution of the charge over the entire cross-section of the furnace, it is proposed that the means (20) are on plough arrangements (22) which are fastened on frames (21), which can be moved around the furnace (10), are arranged radially in relation to the furnace vessel, and can be displaced in the direction of the furnace centre and away therefrom as well as in the direction of the axis of the furnace vessel.
