PURPOSE:To perform succeeding photographing operation by pressing a shutter release button and performing preliminary winding operation again without opening a rear cover even if preliminary winding operation stops owing to the consumption of a power source battery. CONSTITUTION:When the release switch 3 is turned on while a mode switch 2 is set at a preliminary winding side, the preliminary winding operation is restarted. While the preliminary winding operation is performed again, a CPU 20 monitors the source voltage to carry on the preliminary winding operation when the source voltage is higher than a reference voltage and enter a photographic mode when the preliminary winding operation is completed. When a shutter lock signal SR is inputted owing to a drop in the source voltage, a motor 1 is stopped again and the CPU 20 enters a halt state. Similarly, the preliminary winding operation is performed thereafter every time a release switch 3 is turned on with the release button. The photographic mode is entered on the preliminary winding operation, but a motor for feeding a film is powered on in the photographic mode for a short time of 0.5-1sec and intermittently, so a decrease in the ability of the battery is less that in the preliminary winding operation and photography of about one film cartridge is possible.
