PURPOSE:To efficiently recover cement cadmium with minial impurity by simple operations, by regulating the pH of a Tl and Cd-containing aqueous solution acidified with sulfuric acid, by adding specific amounts of Zn and causing the resulting mixture to react, and by further adding water and sulfuric acid after removing the solution after reaction so as to treat the above at a specific pH. CONSTITUTION:The Tl- and Cd-containing aqueous solution acidified with sulfuric acid is held in the pH range 0.2-2.0 and agitated, to which a powder of An or An-Cd is added so that Cd ion concentration of the solution after reaction is =0.01g/l to undergo cementation reaction. At the conclusion of the reaction, the solution after reaction is removed by separation, and then wafer and sulfuric acid are added into a reaction tank and the resulting mixture is held again in the pH range 0.2-2.0 and agitated to underge removal of the secondary final solution by separation. In this way, contained Tl is removed by =about 90%, so that high-purity cement cadmium can be obtained in high efficiency. Moreover, the primary and secondary final solutions can be used repeatedly.
