The system displays the amount of independent operation that can be guaranteed by auxiliary storage batteries 5 mounted in parallel across a principal electrical power supply circuit 1, 2, 3, 4 and capable either of receiving a charging current from the said circuit or of sending a discharging current to it. From the voltage at the terminals of the batteries 5 and from the charging current from them, an electrical signal is produced whose amplitude becomes greater as the charging current becomes smaller and vice versa. This amplitude is a maximum when the voltage is nominal and the charging current is zero. IMAGE
