Pyridyl-piperazine cpds. of formula (I) in which R is H, halogen, NO2 or NH2, and their salts are made by (a) reaction of a 2-halo pyridine with a N-mono-protected piperazine in anhydrous, inert organic solvent at reflux temp. under inert atmos.; and (b) removal of the protective gp., precipitation as the di-hydrochloride and purification by conventional methods.
