The agricultural machine has two sections extending sideways behind a tractor. Each section is connected by a swinging arm to a connecting frame at the centre. The junction between a section and an arm includes a member with a hinged joint for rotation about a vertical axis. This enables each section to swing about the axis until both sections are swung together to extend rearwards. Each arm is connected to the central frame by a further hinged joints, and the two drives use cables which are wound around drums, at these central joints. In alternative designs, chains with chain wheels at these joints or a hydraulic system with crank arms can be used.
