This novel material 4 comprises particles 2 agglomerated by means of a binder and is characterised according to the invention in that the particles 2 are, at least in the most part, formed from tree bark 1, preferably forest-tree bark. Advantageously the forest tree is a resinous tree such as pine and/or fir. An inexpensive agglomerated material is thus obtained permitting the valorisation of a non-utilised material, constituting sawmill scrap, which was to date destroyed by combustion or removed by dumping.
