The invention relates to a method of embodiment of the hydrodynamic bearings intended to support and guide the shafts of the rotary machine. / p & & p & the method consists in producing beforehand a self-contained 1 composed of thin sheets fixed with respect to each other and that overlap partially so as to form an internal surface floating able to generate the formation of a fluid film between the said surface and the shaft mounted in that - ci; the cartridge comprises an outer surface peripheral of diameter corresponding to that of the bore of the bearing body 5 and is inserted in this bore and then immobilized in rotation and in axial translation with respect to that - latter, in particular by means of thrust 3 and 7 located at the edge.
