The ventilation unit for agricultural storage elevators comprises a prefabricated wall mounting panel (1) with two circular openings (2,3) disposed one above the other and having differing diameters. One fan (4) is mounted on the panel facing the larger diameter opening and another fan (5) is mounted on the same panel facing the smaller diameter hole. A stop/ start control resides on the larger fan while the smaller fan is independently controlled. Both fans are driven by speed controlled electric motors, the larger fan being driven over a narrow range to allow use of a motor with smaller airgap and therefore increased efficiency. The maximum flow rate (C) of the small fan is equal to the minimum flow rate (B) of the large fan, permitting a minimum flow from the small fan equal to (A+C)/10, where A is the maximum flow of the large fan.
