The invention relates to a process for the simultaneous scrubbing of NOx, SO2, SO3, HCl, HF and other flue gas pollutants, in particular from power station exhaust gases. It has surprisingly been found that, according to the invention, the simultaneous scrubbing of NOx can be considerably increased and accelerated if the polycarboxylic acid (EDTA included) and/or phosphonic acid used is or are complexed with iron(II) sulphate prior to the addition to the scrubbing water. The polycarboxylic acid solutions (EDTA included) are acidified to an extent depending on pH, using mineral acids, preferably sulphuric acid, when polycarboxylic acids having an alkaline character, whose solutions are in the alkaline range, are used, iron chelate, preferably iron(II) sulphate, being simultaneously added in this mixing process.
