Method for automatically recognising the type of lettering, without prior knowledge of the content of the text, with the aid of a description of the text original by means of descriptors
After descriptors have been determined for the individual lettering characters, search and evaluating processes are run in two part-processes in which serifs are looked for and any slant is recognised and its angle is evaluated with respect to the orientation of the text lines. The data resulting from the part-processes are processed together for determining the type of lettering of the text investigated. IMAGE
