PURPOSE:To perform assuredly theprocesses for both the retrieval and the confirmation of validity and to accelerate a recovery process, by using two marks in combination, and sharing each mark between the immediately preceding and next renewal careers. CONSTITUTION:A timer 18 supplies the time data to an SN register 19 every time a data base 11 is renewed. The precedent contents of the register 19 are shifted to an SC register 20. The values of the registers 19 and 20 are marked via a data base shunt processing part 16 or a renewal career recording processing part 17 when the data base is shunted or the renewal career is recorded. A recovery processing part retrieves the one that has the value of the register 19 for the mark SC of the renewal career file in a recording medium 14 and carries out a recovery process for the renewal of the data base in accordance with the obtained renewal career. At the same time, the contents of the register 19 are rewritten.
