Nacelle for maintenance of guys on radio-communications pylon - has wire brushes for cleaning and painting operations within two hinged semi-cylindrical assemblies and is pulled along guy by winch cable
The nacelle is formed by two semi cylindrical mechanical assemblies which are hinged together. The two assemblies each comprise metallic end plates maintained parallel by spacers. Between these plates are mounted three metal shafts which support pairs of metallic brushes. These are assembled around a centre channel defined by semi circular cut outs in each plate. One assembly contains pulleys which guide the nacelle on a pylon support guy around which the nacelle is clamped. A fixing ring at each end of the nacelle enables a winch cable to be attached to pull the nacelle along the guy to effect cleaning and painting operations.
