Voltage regulator for remotely supplied telephonic equipment - uses upper and lower level voltage comparators to control operation of astable oscillators generating voltage related feedback frequency
The voltage regulator uses an input voltage measuring facility, and high and low level voltage comparators. A circuit produces differing frequency signals within the voice band depending on whether the voltage is above the maximum, below the minimum, or between maximum and minimum. A transmitter sending these signals back to the supply source. Astable connected '555' integrated timer circuits are used to generate two of the signals, with the third frequency produced by frequency division using a bistable integrated circuit. The higher frequency astable circuit has the reset pin controlled by gates driven from comparator circuits to inhibit its operation when the voltage is within limits.
