The consolidated shore or bank structure can intercept a wide variety of types of waves with wide range of wavelengths, and is usable as a breakwater. It has a rear wall (12) on a base (11), higher than water level (W). There are also spaced headwalls (14, 15) of the same height, with tops linked to the rear wall by a support slab (16). Head walls contain holes (20, 19), gradually decreasing in size from the front wall to the last wall which is adjacent to the rear wall, which pref. has a smooth vertical surface. This effectively intercepts many types of waves.
