The lance constitutes an improvement of the lance described in EP 46721.7. It comprises a neck (3) and a divergent part (2), is provided with a side orifice which brings the interior of the neck (3) into communication with an annular space (6) connected to an oxygen inlet (A1). The divergent part may comprise a frustoconical part (19,34) which may be extended by a surface of revolution (39) whose generatrix has a concavity directed inwards. This lance applies in particular to the decarburisation of chromium pig iron. IMAGE
