The electric generation unit comprises an alternator driven through a belt and pulley system which multiplies the speed of rotation of water or compressed air driven driving drum to the speed required by the alternator. The driving drum has a belt running over it with another drum placed vertically below the driving drum. The belt has buckets fixed along its length. The buckets are filled with water from a water outlet and fall under gravity, rotating the drums and hence the alternator. The output from the alternator drives a water pump returning the spent water to the water outlet for recycling it to fill the buckets.
