PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the efficiency of working, by providing, in an automatic profile copy grinding machine, such a mechanism that a peripheral working step, a drilling step and a hole deforming step are automatically carried out with the use of a cam device so that the waste of time for the attaching and removing of a work in each step is eliminated. CONSTITUTION:A shaft 8 carrying at its top end a pulley 7 coupled to a motor 9 and at its lower section a tool 6, is inserted in and rotatably journalled to a slidable shaft 4 which is vertically moved by a cylinder 5 and is stopped by a stopper 11 and which is attached to a supporting block 3 carried by a column 2 in a machine frame 1. A chuck device 13 disposed in the lower section of the slidable shaft 4, is integrally incorporated with the top end of a rotary shaft 26 which is arranged on a movable table 24 moved on a slide bed 28 on the machine frame 1 in association with cylinders 23 and which is journalled to a supporting cylinder 25. Further, the rotary shaft 26 is provided with a pulley 31 connected with a drive source and a plurality of cams 32, 33, 34, and as well provided with cam followers 35, 36, 37 which are opposed to the cams, respectively, and which are associated with a cylinder 47.
