Fault detector for IC engine oil pressure and temp. indicators - includes parent relay and parallel thyristor detection circuits able to interrupt relay operating current
The system includes a parent circuit including a relay with contacts and a changeover switch, with output terminals connected to the load machine. The parent switch circuit is also connected to a supply via a switch. A number of fault detecting circuits are connected in parallel on five wires to the parent circuit. Each fault detector includes a detecting switch, a thyristor and associated resistor and diodes. When a fault occurs, the thyristor in that particular unit does not fire, and the relevant indicator light fails to illuminate. The contacts open, and the machine is stopped. The switch allows manual restarting if required to over-ride the automatic interruption of supply.
