The process and appts. include a hollow ring (a), which is coated internally with a dielectric material to form a waveguide. The ring (a) has a tangential inlet microchannel (b) fed by a laser to form a monochromatic beam of electromagnetic waves travelling round the ring channel (a). A vacuum pump creates a hard vacuum in channels (a,b). The travel of the beam round the inside of ring (a) produces a space-time equilibrium producing photon satn. inside the ring, thus creating a giant, artificial lepton particle (E). This principle can be used in numerous devices, e.g. for local transformation of wave frequency; prodn. of gamma rays; creating an accelerated stream of anti-particles; or the prodn. of heat by the disintegration of materials.
