Method for correcting image errors (aberrations) caused by an inhomogeneous distribution of sound velocity and/or errors in the position-determining elements of a scanning device in the ultrasonic scanning of objects, in particular in ultrasonic reflection computer tomography and the compound-B scanning method
The distortions in scale which occur during imaging due to echo-time effects because of different sound velocities inside the object region and/or errors in the position-determining elements are corrected by making use of at least one prominent region of the object to determine a respective translation of a partial image before the superimposition of partial images to form a total image, with the result that this respective region is sharply imaged by means of the translation carried out, and due to the fact that partially differing sound velocities are adopted for the purpose of reconstructing the image of the relevant object region from the ultrasonic signals.
