An adjusting device which does not rotate with the propulsion shaft is described for a propeller driven via angular gearing and having adjustable blades. The characterising feature of this device is that the yoke adjusting the propeller blades is supported in such a way that it can be loaded by tensile and/or compressive forces, which yoke converts its translatory movement into a swivelling movement of the blades. Furthermore, a locking device for the blades is shown which is based on positive fixing of each blade in its set position and is operated without additional control outlay. The device is further characterised in that the blades are held in position without pressurising.
