The device reads in various cyclically changing physiological female parameters each day via a display, a keyboard and an electronic thermometer, and stores these parameters over several cycles. At the end of each cycle it determines the fertile and infertile days within this cycle retrospectively from this data material according to the present state of medical knowledge stored in the main program. If, after storing one or more cycles, the data of a new day are entered the device employs complex, specially developed statistical methods to determine whether this is a fertile or infertile day and outputs the result. Major deviations from the individual or generally physiological standard in the data material readin permit the device to draw conclusions about possible gynaecological or endocrinological disorders, which are output together with the advice to consult a gynaecologist.
