The hydrodynamic fluid-film bearing has an elastic bearing insert between a shaft and the housing in which it rotates. The insert (14) has a first section (12) with a number of elastic protrusions of predetermined shape, and a second one (13) connected to it and with a smooth surface. The first section is towards the housing (11) and the second towards the shaft (10) or encloses it. Recesses are provided (15, 16) to secure the insert in position in the housing, allowing limited relative movement between it and the housing surface.
