A duplicator for original picture having a photo head tracing original picture, a recording head linked with photo head comprises a point selecting process for original picture, a non-operating region selecting process which is able to make a misoperation when tracing figure line of original picture, a moving process of photo head to selected point, a record stopping process when detecting the second non-operating region. A recording head moves to the second point in non operating region without drawing and then starts drawing again when it reaches the desired position.
