The system is for recovering sunken wrecks with the help of a transporter tank. Sonar enables the wreck position to be determined accurately. The tank is ballast type and supports machinery of various kinds, and forms a type of lagoon, around the wreck site. The base of the tank is driven into the sea bed, with the help of base cutters and water ballast in an annular space. The wreck is secured to it and the ballast water is driven out by air. This gives buoyancy and lifts and holds the wreck.
