PURPOSE:To reduce errors in journalizing by deciding on the presence of a stored file in volume information at specified intervals of time, and generating job control statements classified by addresses with regard to only list files wherein stored files reside. CONSTITUTION:List files LF1, LF2-LFn outputted from respective jobs JOB1, JOB2-JOBn are sorted in external storage devices VOL1-VOLn, such as disk packs, in the form of stored files with file names. The catalogues VTOC of the devices VOL1-VOLn are read out at specified intervals of time to check whether said files LF1-LFn reside respectively. Then, job control statements JCL classified by addresses are generated according to information in a master file FM with regard to list files wherein stored files reside.
