摘要
The disc brake uses a sliding caliper (26) mounted on a fixed support (10) with an hydraulic jack effecting the convergence of friction pads onto the opposite faces of a revolving disc. Studs (18) cantilever from the support to enter bores in the caliper and guide its sliding movements during brake actuation, their free ends being equipped with friction pad wear-detectors (52). The detector uses reference surfaces (74, 76) to define a clearance (X) which reduces as the pads wear and cause the caliper to move (A) relative to the support. A caliper upstand and a washer with a rim return may provide the reference surfaces (76, 74), the latter being located on a shoulder (60) by a spring (64). Contact between the washer (62) and caliper (26) may close an electric warning circuit (72).
