Concrete channels in which liqs. flow are subject to erosion due to the speed of an effluent flow. The concrete and its protective coatings are subjected to accelerated tests to determine the erosion and the loss of material after the erosion. Cylindrical tank has an orifice in the base through which a charged effluent is introduced. The concrete cylinder being tested is placed inside the tank to rest on a rubber, e.g., silicone support. The cylinder is aligned with a rotor assembly contg. blades which are rotated at a speed such that the linear speed of the blades corresponds to the speed of liq. flow under the actual conditions. A cover closes the tank and an opening around the rotor axis allows the effluent to be discharged.
