The contactless protection equipment is for a roughly cubic danger area round a machine tool, particularly a power-operated press, and comprises an emitter and a receiver or a combination unit with reflector. The machine tool has a control unit comprising a two-handed safety device with emergency stop button. The combination emitter/receiver and reflector are mounted to the side of the danger area and at an adjustable distance from it, and there are two deflecting mirrors at the front of it and also at an adjustable distance, all fixed to the machine tool but detachable from it.
