摘要
A sampling mould is lowered into molten steel, esp. in a converter during blowing, for carbon determn. by thermal analysis while also making a cast disk sample. The mould is made of two heat-resistant ceramic halves with a vertical joint line. On the joint line, and starting from the base of the mould, is an inlet channel leading to two cavities (a,b). The mould also has limit stop lugs used when it is inserted in a tube made e.g. of cardboard. The lower cavity (a) contains a thermocouple inside a small, U-shaped quartz tube and used for thermal analysis; whereas the upper cavity (b) is used to cast the disk. A recess on the top surface of the mould receives a connector carrying the thermocouple leads. Improved accuracy w.r.t. an earlier mould described in 2558092.
