The arrangement for producing an electrical transducer signal as a function of the instantaneous position or motion of an object operates without mechanical frictional losses, is extremely simple to make and produces extremely accurately measurement signals. The object is placed on top of a hollow body wholly or partially filled with a liquid with electrically measurable characteristics such as conductivity, dielectricity or permeability. Electrodes are immersed in the liquid to enable an indicator circuit to measure the sensed parameter. The evaluation circuit measures the position or motion of the object from the variation in degree of immersion of the electrodes in the liquid. The liquid may be a cooking salt 001, or a mineral water with similar characteristics. (38op).
