The hollow profile member made from steel is used especially for making of fire resistant doors with glazing panels used on staircases and in corridors. This profile can be used equally well for making the door panel as well as for making the fixed door frame. The profile is made by pressing a steel sheet strip into a channel shape with hollow flanges. The web (12) of this profile consists of two thicknesses (13, 14) of sheet steel. The flanges (15, 16) are hollow with cavities (17, 18) and the glass panel is fitted into the gap between these two hollow flanges. The channel form between the flanges has stepped walls and the groove in this channel can be used for fitting sealing strips.
