PURPOSE:To minimize the use amount of absorbents and stabilize the operation of the apparatus by incorporating the controls such as of replenishment rate of absorbents, desulfurization rates, quality of product gypsum, etc. into one system and simultaneously controlling these. CONSTITUTION:SO2 density 1 and gas flow rate 2 of the gas introduced into the apparatus are converted to electric signals which are then put into an adder 3 to calculate SO2 quantity. This signal is converted 4 to oxidation tower 23 extract liquid flow rate. At the same time, the pH value 5 of the oxidation tower is measured and is converted 6 to oxidation tower extract liquid flow rate. These 2 signals and the signal of an oxidation tower extract liquid flow rate flow bias setter 7 is added 8, from which value the oxidation tower extract liquid flow rate D is controlled by a flow controller 9, flow control valve 10 and flowmeter 11.
