The ski boot (2) has a shell (3) which fits round the knee of the user and is joined to the boot by height adjustable articulated levers (4,5). The front part of the knee piece (6) surrounds the articulation of the knee and a central region (8) has a circular section and surrounds the tendon of the quadriceps. The knee piece rests against the condyle of the articulation of the knee and comes up as far as the hollow of the knee. It is extended at the top by projections (12,13) which rest on the condyles of the femur.
