The safety harness, partic. a trapeze-harness is for sailboard riders. It has a buckle for releasably connecting a line from the wishbone boom. The connector is a downwards-pointing hook (5) suspended upwards- and sideways-flexibly by an eye (6) from the buckle's upper crossbar. A bar (7) projecting from the eye can engage a catch (8) formed by a bend in the lower crossbar, being held there by normal-direction (9) pull from the line (4). Body movement introducing a sideways component into the pull disengages the bar which has a sloping end-face (7'), allowing the hook to swivel.
