Radio receiver for spread spectrum multiple access signals - has noise immunity improved by including adder and subtractor circuits following code generator stage
The receiver has an adder circuit (9) located between a code generator (8) and a multiplier (11). A subtractor circuit (10) is located between the code generator and a second multiplier (12). Both the adder and the subtractor circuits receive code sequences displaced by half a clock period such that the data is available at the output of the filter (13)in the path containing the adder. A third multiplier (15) is connected to filter circuits (13,14) and the output is coupled to the loop filter (17) in the delay locked loop that compresses the received signals in the baseband to the original bandwidth. The advantages include increased noise immunity using relatively few components. The receiver can handle smaller input signals than existing appts. and may make greater use of the available frequency band.
