A drier for household washing comprises a clothes horse or similar stand on which articles can be hung and a housing which almost completely encloses the stand. In one wall of the housing is a fan which ingests warm air coming from an external source, such as a radiator, oven, or other household appliance, and blows it from the top of the housing down through the articles and out through apertures at floor level. The drier is light, compact, and cheap to manufacture and run, since it has no heating element, but depends on energy sources already available and in use for other purposes.
