摘要
Live vaccine against theileriosis in cattle consists of cattle lymphoid cells infested with Schizota of the attenuated strain Theileria annulata KTa No. 7. Pref. the vaccine is administered as a dose contg. 0.1-3 million living, infested clles. The vaccine is prepd. by growing T. annulata CY-1 (isolated from the mite Hyalomma detritum) on cattle lymphoid cells in a nutrient medium for 20-100 days, esp. in 6-12 passages over 60-80 days at 37.5-38.5 degrees C. The schizota are then collected and frozen in presence of a suitable cryoprotectant, esp. glycerine, at is not -60 degrees C. The vaccine has high immunogenicity and is 10 times cheaper than known vaccines. It is only weakly reactogenic and induces no side effects in vaccinated cattle.
