The storage installation is intended for bulk material, partic. coal, and comprises at least one storage silo (1-3) above which a horizontal bridge (5,11,12) is rotatable about a central vertical axis. The bridge has a travelling crab with bucket grab and a conveyor (10) to move material in the silo and/or deposit it therein. A conveyor (14) extending below the silo passes under its centre and serves to discharge material from this. There may be a common conveyor (14) for a number of silos arranged side by side whose bridges (5,11,12) can be placed in line so that the crab and conveyor (10) can be moved from one bridge to the next.
