PURPOSE:To repair broken parts without replacing broken staves by replacing the cooling pipes constituting staves with a pipe coated with a heat-resistant member and blowing castor to around the coated pipe. CONSTITUTION:A heat-resistant member of metals such as Al, Mo, W, their alloys or ceramics is diffused and infiltered into the surface of a cooling pipe for replacement by a spraying method and heat treatment, whereby coating of heat-resistant metals or ceramics is applied. This is mounted in place of a broken and removed cooling pipe, thereafter castor is sprayed to around the coated pipe, whereby the stave is repaired to the state silimar to that of a sound stave.
