The backing sheet of the dressing, which is visible after the dressing has been applied, is not made of a material which is coloured to match as nearly as possible, the colour of the patients skin. Such a dressing is clearly less obvious on a negro, oriental or coloured person than the conventional dressings which are only available in white, pink and flesh colours. A range of colours is suggested to suit skins of all races, e.g. ebony black, coffee, chocolate, chestnut, copper and tanned leather.
