The pincer action office punch cuts a single hole in thick paper or cardboard. It has two superimposed laminar spring steel members (1, 2) with their two adjacent ends are fixed e.g. rivetted (3) together. One member (1) is approximately straight and incorporates the punch (4) on its inner faces. The other member (2) cranks up after the rivets (3) to then run parallel to and offset from the counter member (1), and to incorporate the matrix hole (5). Beyond the punch zone (4) both members (1, 2) may diverge nominally to form hand levers (H). The member (1) supporting the punch (4) may also accommodate a cantilevering blade spring (6) which cranks up to align with the top of the punch (4). The spring (6) also has a hole which is traversed by the punch (4) and serves to support the workpiece during punching.
