The emergency number call transmitter for use into electronic common control exhanges. The unit has manual release but the number is not transmitted unitl correct tone is received from the exchanged, i.e. the exchange line scan has cycled until it has scanned this line and recorded an 'off hook' condition and connected it to a register to receive the incoming dialled information, consequently there is no danger of the first digit being lost because the exchange common control was not ready to receive it. The call transmitter has integral batteries charged by the line current available from the exchange. The emergency call transmitter comprises power storage circuit (SV) to supply the exchange tone recognition circuit (ZE), a delay circuit (VZ) and the bistable stores (SP1, 2, 3) coupled to the MF oscillator (MF). When the manual release is operated the bistables are enabled (SP1, SP2) to send the number but are only triggered when the exchange tone is recognised (ZE) and a start pulse sent from an electronic switch (ES) into the delay circuit (VZ) to operate the AND gates and bistables so that the number is transmitted from the multi frequency oscillator (MF).
