The method is for the formation of a cover made of shrunk foil to be drawn over e.g. a brick stack. The foil cover piece is firstly drawn from a supply roll in the form of a foil tube folded together. It is then folded outwards, and after cutting away from the following tube is drawn over the stack from top to bottom to cover. The cover piece of shrunk foil is firstly drawn off from below upwards, and after being cut away from the preceeding piece is folded out along the top edge. It is then cut apart from the following foil tube (1) is turned through 180 degrees prior to being drawn over the stack (29) to be covered.
