The letter file uses a number of sheets to divide the letters into groups with an index tag, formed integrally with the sheet. Each dividing sheet has a row of filing holes along the left hand margin. The filing wires are positioned so that the distance between themis an integral multiple of the pitch of the filing holes. The dividing sheet can be fitted in any one of a number of positions to avoid one index tag obscuring another tag. The sheet can be folded along any of the fold lines to prevent it projecting outside the file.
