Dimensionally stable inflatable articles in the form of containers, emergency chutes, boats, life jackets or rafts consist of individual tubular elements made of textile fabrics and interconnected longitudinally by interweaving the weft yarns. The width of the strip interconnecting the elements may be varied. The weaving pattern may also be varied, elements are renderd air impermeable by impregnating or laminating with a foil.
